Fault Description:
Electrical Management System Control-and-Display Unit (EMS CDU) 2 has detected a communication failure from the Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 Channel B.
Possible Causes:
- Electrical Management System Control-and-Display Unit (EMS CDU) 2 (A91)
- Junction Box (JB4)
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 (A18)
- Associated Wiring

If you notice CAIMS messages related to the following list of systems which communicates on the DAU 2B General Purpose Bus, troubleshoot the DAU 2 and Junction Box #4 card #2.
- EMS CDU 2
- Fuel Management Computer
- Heater Current Monitor Unit 2
- Bleed Management Controller 1
- RHS windshield temp controller
- Brake control unit
- EVS heater controller
Make sure the Junction Box #4 is racked properly. Field experience revealed many cases of Junctions Boxes not installed properly.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Swap EMS CDU 2 with EMS CDU 1.
- If system checks are good, replace EMS CDU 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap DAU 2 with DAU 1.
- If system checks are good, replace DAU 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between the EMS CDU 2, JB4 and DAU 2.
- If the wiring checks are not good, repair the defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace PCB2/JB4.
- Do close out.
