CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Electrical Management System Control-and-Display Unit (EMS CDU) 1 (A91) Channel A has detected a fault with the ARINC input bus from Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 (A18) Channel B.

Possible Causes:

  • Electrical Management System Control Display Unit (EMS CDU) 1 (A94)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 (A17)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap DAU 1 with DAU 2. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace DAU 1 and do close out.

  2. Disconnect EMS CDU 1 connector A94P2 and access DAU 1 connector A17CP1. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A94P2-1 Ground
    A94P2-2 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A94P2-1 A17CP1-K1
    A94P2-2 A17CP1-K2

    1. If there is continuity, continue with next step.
    2. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.

  4. Replace EMS CDU 1.
  5. Do close out.
