CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

AC Power Center (ACPC) Primary Logic Card 1 (PLC1) has detected a problem on the RS422 communication bus between itself and Generator Control Unit (GCU) 4.

Possible Causes:

  • Generator Control Unit (GCU) 4 (A59)
  • AC Power Center Primary Logic Card (PLC) 1
  • AC Power Center (ACPC) (A54)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap GCU 4 with GCU 1, 2, 3 or APU GCU. Is the fault resolved?

    1. If YES, replace GCU 4 and do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  2. Access ACPC logic assembly. Swap PLC 1 with PLC 2. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, replace PLC 1 and do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  3. Disconnect GCU 4 connector A59P2. Remove PLC 1. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A59P2-9 Ground
    A59P2-15 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 5.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A59P2-9 P315B-44
    A59P2-15 P315B-45

    1. If there is continuity, replace PLC 1 and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, go to step 6.

  5. Disconnect ACPC connector A54P2. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A54P2-a Ground
    A54P2-b Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, go to step 7.

  6. Disconnect ACPC connector A54P2. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A59P2-9 A54P2-a
    A59P2-15 A54P2-b

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  7. Replace ACPC.
  8. Do close out.
