Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

When Stall Protection Computer (SPC) senses a Pusher Actuator failure during continuous BIT or PAT - one of the faults that follow occurs:

  • The SPC receives a pusher failure discrete
  • The SPC receives a pusher error indication that only SPC Channel B has the stick push discrete active

Possible Causes:

  • Copilot Pusher Disconnect
  • Pusher Capstan
  • Pusher Actuator
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) Channel B
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) (A40)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap Copilot Master Disconnect Switch.

    1. If system checks are good, replace the defective Copilot Master Disconnect Switch and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Perform wiring checks between Copilot Master Disconnect Switch, Pusher and SPC.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Replace Stick Pusher Actuator.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Replace Stick Pusher Capstan.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Replace Stall Protection Computer (SPC).
  6. Do close out.
