Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Channel B of the Stall Protection Computer (SPC) senses a Shaker 2 low current or an over current condition. The error can be found during continuous BIT or a PAT.

Possible Causes:

  • Stick Shaker 2 (A204)
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) (A40)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Make sure the connector (A204) and the wires connect on the stick shaker 2 are not damaged.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Measure the ground return at the Stick Shaker 2 A204P1-B.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Remove the Stall Protection Computer; inspect the tray, connector and the pins at the connector tray.
  4. Measure the 28 VDC at the SPC from the SPDA.
  5. Reinstall the SPC.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.
      NOTE: The SPC is difficult to install due to its location.

  6. Replace Stick Shaker 2.
    NOTE: If possible, swap the stick shaker 1 and 2 and confirm that the fault follows the shaker 1 in 2 positions
  7. Do close out.
