Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Stall Protection Computer CH B does not receive any flap signals from Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 or SFCU 2.

Possible Causes:

  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) (A40)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Verify 'STALL WARN ADVANCE' (amber or cyan) EICAS message posted on power-up.
  2. On CAIMS PMAT, check for active faults of SFCU 1 and SFCU 2.

    1. If there is fault reported, go to step 4.
    2. If there is no fault reported, continue with next step.

  3. Perform electronic rigging of SFCS.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Troubleshoot and clear flap system fault.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Perform wiring checks between SFCUs and SPC.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. Replace Stall Protection Computer (SPC).
  7. Do close out.
