Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Overview:

Fault Message:

FLAP LEFT ABRAKE OC/SFCU/WRG

Fault Code:

2750266STD

Associated CAS:

None

Reporting LRU: Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU)
System Description: 27-52-00
Schematic Diagram: 27-50-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 27-50-03 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

This message shows when one of the conditions that follow occurs:

  • There is a short circuit condition in the brake drive
  • The outputs to the Flap Left Asymmetry Brake do not agree with inputs from the brake

Possible Causes:

  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)
  • Left Flap Asymmetry Brake (A128)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

Ensure the vent hole cover decal is properly installed on the top drain hole to avoid any debris accumulation, which can affect the asymmetry brake functionality (Refer to SIL 470 Rev B from Hamilton Sundstrand). Hamilton Sundstrand released VSB FAS02AB-27-1 for upgrading the asymmetry brake to -3.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap SFCU 1 with SFCU 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SFCU 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.
NOTE: SFCU 1 is the left side (channel 1) controller and SFCU 2 is the right side (channel 2) controller.

  2. Perform a resistance check of the left flap asymmetry brake as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    A124CP1-33 A124CP1-21 3.0 - 17 ohms
    A95CP1-33 A95CP1-21 3.0 - 17 ohms

NOTE: Performing this resistance check will verify the interface wiring in addition to the asymmetry brake.

    1. If the resistance is out of tolerance, continue with next step.
    2. If the resistance is within tolerance, do close out.

  3. Perform a resistance check of the flap left asymmetry brake as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    A128P1-A A128P1-C 1.5 - 4.0 ohms
    A128P1-D A128P1-F 1.5 - 4.0 ohms

    1. If the resistance of the asymmetry brake is within tolerance, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If out of tolerance, continue with next step.

  4. Replace Left Flap Asymmetry Brake.
  5. Do close out.
