Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap SFCU 1 with SFCU 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SFC 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Perform the rigging of the slat/flap control system. Set the selection to a new detent position on the slat/flap control handle and move the system to the new position.

    1. If the fault occurs again on the same channel, continue with this procedure.
    2. If the fault occurs on the opposite channel, the fault has moved with the controller. Replace the defective SFCU and do close out.
NOTE: SFCU 1 is the left side (channel 1) controller. SFCU 2 is the right side (channel 2) controller.

  3. Disconnect the connectors A124AP1 for the SFCU 1 (A124), A95AP1 for the SFCU 2 (A95), A65FP1 for the FLIGHT CONTROL UNIT 1 (A65), A66FP1 for the FLIGHT CONTROL UNIT 2 (A66), A63P1 and A63P2 for the D.C. POWER CENTRE (A63). Perform a continuity check as follows:
    For the SFCU1:

    From To Result
    A124AP1-94 A65FP1-1
    A124AP1-16 A63P1-M
    A124AP1-15 A79P1-EE

    For the SFCU2:

    From To Result
    A95AP1-94 A66FP1-1
    A95AP1-16 A63P2-k
    A95AP1-15 A79P1-FF

    1. If there is continuity, continue with next step.
    2. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.

  4. Perform a continuity check as follows:
    For the SFCU1:

    From To Result
    A124AP1-94 Ground
    A124AP1-16 Ground

    For the SFCU2:

    From To Result
    A95AP1-94 Ground
    A95AP1-16 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Replace the defected FCU.
  6. Do close out.
