Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. If other faults are reported in CAIMS related to the roll system, perform the troubleshooting of these faults first.
  2. If this fault is only reported by one FCU, swap FCUs.
NOTE: Prior to swapping FCUs, clear FCUs latched faults. Make sure that FCUs have gone through the complete Built-In Test with all hydraulics systems pressurized and wait 30 seconds after the "SPLRS STAB IN TEST" CAS message is cleared.

    1. If system checks are good, replace defective FCU and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. If this fault is reported by both FCU, adjust the roll input control module.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. If the fault is reported by the FCU 1, compare the data of PLT RCIM SET OWN and CPLT RCIM SET OWN recorded from the FCU 1 with the data recorded from the FCU 2. If the data of PLT RCIM SET OWN from the FCU 1 has a value greater than +/-12.0 degrees in comparison with the other data.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, go to step 6.

  5. If the fault is reported by the FCU 2, compare the data of PLT RCIM SET OWN and CPLT RCIM SET OWN recorded from the FCU 2 with the data recorded from the FCU 1. If the data of PLT RCIM SET OWN from the FCU 2 has a value greater than +/-12.0 degrees in comparison with the other data.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Replace the Pilot Roll input control module.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. If the data of CPLT RCIM SET OWN from the FCU 2 has a value greater than +/-12.0 degrees in comparison with the other data.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Replace the Co-Pilot Roll input control module.
  9. Do close out.
