WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Two poles of the Copilot Trim Switch do not agree.

Possible Causes:

  • Copilot Pitch Trim Switch
  • Flight-Control Unit (FCU) 1 (A65)
  • Flight-Control Unit (FCU) 2 (A66)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. If the fault message H STAB CPLT TRIM SWITCH /WRG FAULT was recorded from the FCU 1 and FCU 2, replace copilot trim switch.
  2. If the fault message H STAB CPLT TRIM SWITCH /WRG FAULT was recorded from the FCU 1 only, check copilot trim switch continuity and functionality.

    1. If copilot trim switch continuity checks are not good, go to step 4.
    2. If copilot trim switch continuity checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between COPILOT CONTROL COLUMN (A60J1) and FCU 1(A65AP1); and between COPILOT CONTROL COLUMN (A60J1) and FCU 1 (A65DP1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and go to step 5.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Replace FCU 1.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. If the fault message H STAB CPLT TRIM SWITCH /WRG FAULT was recorded from the FCU 2 only, check copilot trim switch continuity and functionality.

    1. If copilot trim switch continuity checks are not good, go to step 4.
    2. If copilot trim switch continuity checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. Perform wiring checks between COPILOT CONTROL COLUMN (A60J1) and FCU 2 (A66AP1); and between COPILOT CONTROL COLUMN (A60J1) and FCU 2 (A66DP1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  7. Replace FCU 2.
  8. Do close out.
