Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

R ENG FEED VALVE WRG FAULT shows when the conditions that follow occur:

  1. The Right Engine Fire-Handle is pulled.
  2. The Right Engine-Feed Shutoff-Valve is open.

OR

  1. The Right Engine Fire-Handle is not pulled.
  2. The Right Engine-Feed Shutoff-Valve is closed.

Possible Causes:

  • Right Engine Fire Handle (A210)
  • Fuel Management and Quantity Gauging Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
  • Right Engine-Feed Shutoff-Valve Actuator (L39)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. With the right engine fire handle not pulled, select the FMQGC A (B)-CH A (B) ENGINE/APU FIRE SHUTOFF VALVE CONTROL page via CAIMS, make sure the result that follow are met.

      Reference Status
      RIGHT ENGINE FIRE HANDLE PULLED NOT PULLED
      RIGHT ENG FEED VALVE OPEN STATUS OPEN
      RIGHT ENG FEED VALVE CLOSED STATUS NOT CLOSED

    1. If all the above status are met, go to step 3.
    2. If the RIGHT ENG FEED VALVE OPEN STATUS is shown as NOT OPEN, go to step 6.
    3. If the RIGHT ENG FEED VALVE CLOSED STATUS is shown as CLOSED, go to step 9.
    4. If the RIGHT ENGINE FIRE HANDLE PULLED is shown as PULLED, continue with next step.

  2. Perform wiring check (short to ground = fail) between the right engine fire handle (A210P1) and FMQGC (A47DP1). Repair as required.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, go to step 12.
    2. If wiring checks are good, do close out.

  3. With the right engine fire handle pulled, select the FMQGC A(B)-CH A (B) ENGINE/APU FIRE SHUTOFF VALVE CONTROL page via CAIMS, make sure the result that follow are met.

      Reference Status
      RIGHT ENGINE FIRE HANDLE PULLED PULLED
      RIGHT ENG FEED VALVE OPEN STATUS NOT OPEN
      RIGHT ENG FEED VALVE CLOSED STATUS CLOSED

    1. If the above status are met, go to step 13.
    2. If the RIGHT ENG FEED VALVE CLOSED STATUS is shown as NOT CLOSED, go to step 6.
    3. If the RIGHT ENG FEED VALVE OPEN STATUS is shown as OPEN, go to step 9.
    4. If the RIGHT ENGINE FIRE HANDLE PULLED is shown as NOT PULLED, continue with next step.
      NOTE: Push and hold the manual override pushbutton to unlock the right engine fire handle.

  4. Perform wiring check (Open to ground = fail) between the right engine fire handle (A210P1) and ground stud (GS711).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. Perform wiring check (Open to ground = fail) between the right engine fire handle (A210P1) and FMQGC (A47DP1). Repair as required.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, go to step 12.
    2. If wiring checks are good, do close out.

  6. Check for 28 VDC at the right engine fuel shut off valve (L39P1).

    1. If voltage is there, go to step 10.
    2. If voltage is not there, continue with next step.

  7. Perform wiring check between the right engine fire handle (A210P1) and right engine fuel shut off valve (L39P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  8. Perform wiring check between the DCPC (A63P4) and the right engine fire handle (A210P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  9. Perform wiring check between the right engine fuel shut off valve (L39P1) and FMQGC (A47DP1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  10. Swap the Right engine feed shutoff actuator with Left Right engine feed shutoff actuator.

    1. If system checks are good, replace Right engine feed shutoff actuator and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  11. Swap the Right engine feed shutoff valve with Left engine feed shutoff valve.

    1. If system checks are good, replace Right engine feed shutoff valve and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, go to step 13.

  12. Swap the Right engine fire handle with Left engine fire handle.

    1. If system checks are good, Right engine fire handle and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  13. Replace the FMQGC.
  14. Do close out.
