  • Hydraulic Heat-Exchanger Bypass-Valve
  • Engine Driven Pump 1A Pressure Switch (S34)
  • AC Motor Pump 1B (B51)
  • Hydraulic System 1 Reservoir Temperature Transducer (MT138)
  • Hydraulic System 2 Reservoir Temperature Transducer (MT141)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1
  • Hydraulic System 1 Filter Elements
  • Hydraulic System Filter Manifold
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

When replacing the pressure filters, a hydraulic lock has been known to prevent new filter installation. A B nut next to the filter manifold may need to be loosened or removed to bleed off pressure and allow the installation of the filter.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Carry out a quantity check of the hydraulic system 1.

    1. If low quantity is found, service system, check system for leaks and do close out.
    2. If quantity is good continue with next step.

  2. Ensure fuel is present in the wing(s).
NOTE: Hydraulic system 1 fluid heat exchanger is located at the bottom of the left wing fuel tank. Low fuel quantity in the left wing fuel tank can cause high hydraulic fluid temperature.
  3. Operate ACMP 1B and EDP 1A individually and note temperature indication.

    1. If high (above normal range) temperatures are noted with either pump, replace pump and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Replace Hydraulic System 1 Filter Elements.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Swap Reservoir temperature transducer 1 with Reservoir temperature transducer 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace Reservoir temperature transducer 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Perform wiring check between Hyd System 1 Reservoir Temperature Transducer (MT138) and DAU 1.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  7. Swap DAU 1 with DAU 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace DAU 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Swap the hydraulic filter manifold.

    1. If system checks are good, replace hydraulic filter manifold and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  9. Replace the heat-exchanger bypass-valve.
  10. Do close out.
