Fault Description:
Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 is reporting that the Hydraulic System 2 fluid quantity is below the recommended level in relation to the temperature and Aircraft configuration. Refer to the table below:
| HYDRAULIC FLUID TEMPERATURE | QUANTITY |
|---|---|
| ≥-40 °C to ≤-17 °C | <31% |
| -16 °C to ≤4 °C | <39% |
| 5 °C to ≤26 °C | <47% |
| 27 °C to ≤49 °C | <54% |
| 50 °C to ≤71 °C | <62% |
| 72 °C to ≤93 °C | <70% |
Aircraft Condition: Weight on Wheels, system pressurized above 2600 psi and condition set for more than 2 minutes.
Possible Causes:
- Hydraulic System
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 (A18)
- Hydraulic System Reservoir Quantity Transducer 2 (MT142)
- Hydraulic System Reservoir 2
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
NOTE: An engine run-up may be required to verify for a leak at the EDP drain mast.
NOTE: For a suspected component leak in the wings, a fuel sample may be required and send to a lab to verify for content of hydraulic fluid in the fuel.
- Ensure Hydraulic System 2 is properly serviced.
- If system low quantity found, service system, check system for leaks and do close out.
- If quantity is good, continue with next step.
- Swap DAU 2 with DAU 4.
- If system checks are good, replace DAU 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring check between hydraulic system 2 reservoir quantity transducer (MT142) and DAU 2.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Carry out an external visual check of the hydraulic system which includes all lines and their component(s) and replace as necessary.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace Hydraulic Reservoir 2.
- Do close out.
