Fault Description:
Heater/Brake-Temperature Monitoring Unit (HBMU) 2 does not receive Label 034 (Right Engine Running message) from Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) 2 or Label is invalid.
Possible Causes:
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 (A18)
- Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) 2
- Junction Box 4 (JB4)
- Heater/Brake-Temperature Monitoring Unit (HBMU) 2 (A93)
- Associate Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Look at the CAIMS stored and active faults. Make sure there is no fault present for any of the DAUs and EEC 2.
- Using the Bus Reader, read WSP 18 Status Word from DAU 3 and DAU 4. Make sure the WSP are present and valid.
- Using the Bus Reader, read Label 270 from EEC 2A and 2B. Make sure the Label is present and valid.
- Swap DAU 2 with DAU 1.
- If system checks are good, replace DAU 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap HBMU 2 with HBMU 1.
- If system checks are good, replace HBMU 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap EEC 2 with EEC 1.
- If system checks are good, replace EEC 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks of ARINC between DAU 2, JB4 and HBMU 2.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace JB4.
- Do close out.
