Fault Description:
Heater/Brake-Temperature Monitoring Unit (HBMU) 1 does not received Label 030 (Left Engine Running message) from Engine Electronic Controller 1 or Labels is invalid.
Possible Causes:
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 (A17)
- Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) 1
- Junction Box 3 (JB3)
- Heater/Brake-Temperature Monitoring Unit (HBMU) 1 (A121)
- Associate Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Look at the CAIMS stored and active faults. Make sure there is no fault present for DAU 1 and DAU 2, EEC 1.
- Using the Bus Reader, read WSP 18 data set 0 and data set 2 from DAU 2A and DAU 2B. Make sure the WSPs are present and valid.
- Using the Bus Reader, read Label 270 from EEC 1A and EEC 1B. Make sure the Label is present and valid.
- Swap DAU 1 with DAU 2.
- If system checks are good, replace DAU 1 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap HBMU 1 with HBMU 2.
- If system checks are good, replace HBMU 1 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap EEC 1 with EEC 2.
- If system checks are good, replace EEC 1 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks of ARINC between DAU 1, JB3 and HBMU 1.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace JB3.
- Do close out.
