WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The Right Window Heater/wiring has been detected Short Circuit (Heater Current ≥50±10 A).

Possible Causes:

  • Right Window Heater
  • Right Window Temperature Controller (WTC)
  • Right Side Window Heater
  • Right Windshield (HR7)
  • Side Window Temperature Controller (WTC)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Remove all connectors from the right WTC. Inspect connectors and pins for damage/defects.

    1. If no defects or damage is found, reconnect the WTC connectors and continue with next step.
    2. If defects or damage is found, repair/rectify as required.

  2. Perform wiring checks between Right window heater and R WTC.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Measure the Heater resistance. The total resistance of the anti-fog coating when measured between terminal blocks shall be 27.47 to 33.57 ohms.

    1. If resistance within range, go to step 4.
    2. If resistance out of range, continue with next step.

  4. Replace Side Window.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Interchange WTCs replace faulty unit if necessary.
  6. Do close out.
