WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The Data Acquisition System reports that the Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) label 270 is transmitted from the Fuel Management and Quantity Gauging Computer (FMQGC) with incorrect Source Destination Identifier (SDI) or invalid Sign Status Matrix (SSM).

Possible Causes:

  • Fuel Management and Quantity Gauging Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 (A17)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Remove DAU 1 to get access to the connector A17CP1 and disconnect the connector A47EP1 from FUEL MANAGEMENT QUANTITY GAUGING COMPUTER. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A17CP1-A9 A47EP1-A1
    A17CP1-A10 A47EP1-A2
    A17CP1-SH A47EP1-SH

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with the next step.

  2. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A17CP1-A9 Ground
    A17CP1-A10 Ground
    A17CP1-SH Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with the next step.

  3. Swap DAU 1 with DAU 3.

    1. If system checks are good, replace DAU 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Replace FMQGC.
  5. Do close out.
