Fault Description:
The Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 does not receive Aeronautical Radio, Inc. (ARINC) 429 data from the Left Windshield and Side Window Temperature-Controller (WTC).
Possible Causes:
- Left Window Temperature-Controller (WTC) (A164)
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 (A17)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Remove DAU 1 to get access to the connector A17CP1 and disconnect the connector A164P1 from window temperature-controller. Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A17CP1-H6 A164P1-c A17CP1-J6 A164P1-L A17CP1-SH A164P1-SH - If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A17CP1-H6 Ground A17CP1-J6 Ground A17CP1-SH Ground - If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no continuity, continue with next step.
- Swap DAU 1 with DAU 3. Is the fault still present?
- If NO, replace DAU 1 and do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Replace left window temperature controller.
- Do close out.
