Fault Description:
The Data Acquisition Unit (DAU 2) senses that the excitation for the Right Column Position Transducer on CH B is out of range.
Possible Causes:
- Right Column Position Rotary Variable Differential Transducer (RVDT) (MT217)
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 (A18)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Remove the DAU 2 to get access to the connector A18BP1 and right column position transducer to get access to the connector MT217P1. Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A 18BP1-B5 MT217P1-3 A 18BP1-C5 MT217P1-2 - If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A 18BP1-B5 Ground A 18BP1-C5 Ground - If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no continuity, continue with the next step.
- Swap DAU 2 with DAU 4. Is the fault still present?
- If NO, replace DAU 2 and do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Replace the right column position transducer.
- Do close out.
