AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 does not receive ARINC 429 data from the Flight Control Unit (FCU) 2A.

Possible Causes:

  • Flight Control Unit (FCU) 2 (A66)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 (A18)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Remove the DAU 2 to get access to the connector A18CP1 and the FCU 2 to get access to the connector A66AP1. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A18CP1-D4 A66AP1-1G
    A18CP1-E4 A66AP1-1F

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  2. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A18CP1-D4 Ground
    A18CP1-E4 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Swap DAU 2 with DAU 4. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, replace DAU 2 and do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the FCU 2.
  5. Do close out.
