Fault Description:
The Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 senses a malfunction in the Copilot’s LH Rudder Pedal Components of the Crew Force-Measurement System.
Possible Causes:
- Copilot’s LH Rudder-Pedal Force-Transducer (A258)
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 (A30)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Using PMAT, access CAIMS active faults. Are there any active or stored faults related to the Data Aquisition System displayed?
- If YES, perform troubleshooting for the corresponding troubleshooting in SmartFix Plus and do clsee out.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- Remove DAU 3 to get access to the connector A30AP1 and disconnect A258P1 from RDR PDL FTU COPILOT L. Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A30AP1-G8 A258P1-4 A30AP1-H8 A258P1-5 A30AP1-SH A258P1-SH - If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is continuity, continue with the next step.
- Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A30AP1-G8 Ground A30AP1-H8 Ground A30AP1-SH Ground - If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no continuity, continue with the next step.
- Swap DAU 3 with DAU 1.
- If system checks are good, replace DAU 3 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace the Copilot’s LH Rudder-Pedal Force-Transducer.
- Do close out.
