WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 reports that the LRU on label 270 is transmitted from the Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 with incorrect Source Destination Identifier (SDI) or invalid Sign Status Matrix (SSM).

  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 (A30)
  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Remove DAU 3 to get access to the connector A30CP1 and SFCU 1 to get access to the connector A124AP1. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A30CP1-H8 A124AP1-66
    A30CP1-J8 A124AP1-79

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with the next step.

  2. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A30CP1-H8 Ground
    A30CP1-J8 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with the next step.

  3. Swap DAU 3 with DAU 1. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, replace DAU 3 and do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with the next step.

  4. Replace the SFCU 1.
  5. Do close out.
