Fault Description:
The Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 4 senses a malfunction in the Pilot’s LH Rudder Pedal Components of the Crew Force-Measurement System.
Possible Causes:
- Pilot LH Rudder-Pedal Force-Transducer (A257)
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 4 (A31)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Remove DAU 4 to get access to the connector A31AP1 and disconnect the connector A257J1 from RDR PDL FTU PILOT L. Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A31AP1-G8 A257P1-4 A31AP1-H8 A257P1-5 A31AP1-SH A257J1-SH - If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is continuity, continue with the next step.
- Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A31AP1-G8 Ground A31AP1-H8 Ground A31AP1-SH Ground - If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no continuity, continue with the next step.
- Swap the DAU 4 with DAU 2. Is the fault still present?
- If NO, replace DAU 4 and do close out.
- If YES, continue with the next step.
- Replace the Pilot’s LH Rudder Pedal Force Transducer.
- Do close out.
