WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Landing Gear Electronic Control Unit (LG ECU) has detected a failure with the Landing Gear Selector Valve 3 UP command signal going to the valve. This fault is normally internal to the LGECU but could be external.

Possible Causes:

  • Landing Gear Selector Valve 3 (L17)
  • Landing Gear Control Handle (S3)
  • Landing Gear Electronic Control Unit (LGECU) (A52)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Re-rack LGECU.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Perform wiring checks of the Landing Gear Selector Valve 3 Up Command wires between the LGECU connector A52BP1 and the Landing Gear Selector Valve.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks of the Landing Gear Selector Valve 3 Up Command (Solenoid A) wire between the Landing Gear Control Handle and the Landing Gear Selector Valve.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Perform wiring checks between the Landing Gear Control Handle and GND.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. Measure the Landing Gear Selector Valve 3 Solenoid A resistance - between 57 and 65 Ohms at 68°F (20°C).

    1. If resistance is within range, go to step 7.
    2. If resistance is out of range, continue with next step.

  6. Swap Landing Gear Selector Valve 3 with Landing Gear Selector Valve 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace Landing Gear Selector Valve 3 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. Replace Landing gear control handle.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Replace LGECU.
  9. Do close out.
