Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Missing or invalid input of defog set point label (ARINC LABEL 204) from the Head-Up Flight Display Computer (HFDC) to the Enhanced Vision System (EVS) Heater Controller when the EVS Infrared Sensor Unit (ISU) is selected on.

Possible Causes:

  • Head-Up Flight Display Computer (HUFDC) (A250)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 2 (A18)
  • Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 4 (A31)
  • Enhanced Vision System Heater Controller (EVSHC) (A315)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Using the Bus Reader, read label 165 “ISU Corrected Temp” coming out of the HUD computer. Make sure label 165 is present and valid.
  2. Using the Bus Reader, read ASCB WSP56, Data Set 2 “Demist Set “Point”, coming out of from DAU4. Make sure WSP 56 Data set 2 is present and valid.
  3. Using the Bus Reader, read label 204 “Demist Set “Point”, coming out of the DAU 2. Make sure label 204 is present and valid.
  4. Replace EVSHC.
  5. Do close out.
