These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The Left Inboard Wing Anti-Ice Temperature Sensors (WAITS) has detected a temperature >135°C.

Possible Causes:

  • Wing Anti-Ice Temperature Sensors (WAITS) 1
  • Bleed Management Controller (BMC) 1 (A69)
  • Associated Wiring

NOTE:

  • A bad connection in the sensor circuit can cause this condition.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap WAIV 1 with WAIV 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace WAIV 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Measure the left inboard WAITS resistance. Make sure the sensor is within limits as shown in the table and graph below.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between BMC1 and left inboard WAITS.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Replace BMC 1.
  5. Do close out.
