Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The Portable Maintenance Access Terminal (PMAT) has an internal monitor (counter) that counts the number of its power cycles. The PMAT battery can supply power for approximately 800 power cycles during normal operation. This message comes on when the count is at 600 or more. Thus, the PMAT battery must be replaced before it fails.

NOTE: The PMAT 2.0 (P/N 7023300-801) also has a yellow BATT LOW Annunciator light on its Front Panel. This Annunciator light comes on when the Battery power is low.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Shut down the PMAT.
  2. Restart the PMAT. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  3. Replace the PMAT battery. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  4. Replace PMAT.
  5. Do close out.
