Fault Description:
The Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor 2 conditioning voltage in the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) is out of range low and the signal read by the FADEC is out of range low. This shows a possible open in the EGT Sensor or the engine branched wiring-harness.
Possible Causes:
- Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor 2 (TC1-2)
- Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) (A108)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Examine the engine branched wiring-harness for bare wiring, kinks, worn areas and other damage (WM 49-12).
- If there is bare wiring, kinks, worn areas or other damage, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- Remove the electrical connector lugs from the studs (Alumel and Chromel terminals) of the EGT sensor (EGT2) (WM 49-12) and examine the EGT sensor (EGT2) for contamination or damage.
- If EGT sensor (EGT2) is contaminated or damaged, go to step 7.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between the EGT sensor studs of the EGT sensor (EGT2) (WM 49-12) as follows:
From To Expected Result Result Alumel Chromel <20 ohms - If there is no continuity, go to step 7.
- If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between terminal lugs on the EGT Sensor and the connector pins as follows (WM 49-12):
From To Expected Result Result P802-36 Alumel terminal (-) <6 ohms P802-37 Chromel terminal (+) <6 ohms - If there is no continuity, replace the engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between the pins of the connectors as follows (WM 49-61):
From To Expected Result Result J802-36 A108BP1-K8 <11 ohms J802-37 A108BP1-K7 <11 ohms - If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- Replace FADEC.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace EGT sensor (EGT2).
- Do close out.
