Fault Description:
The signals from the Fuel Shutoff Solenoid, of the Fuel Control Unit, to the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) are lower than the expected range. This shows a possible short in the Fuel Shutoff Solenoid.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Examine the engine branched wiring-harness for bare wiring, kinks, worn areas and other damage (WM 49-12).
- If there is a damage, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If there is no damage, continue with next step.
- Check if the SHORT CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Examine the fuel control unit (A3) receptacle for contamination and damage.
- If fuel control unit (A3) receptacle is contaminated or damaged, go to step 13.
- If fuel control unit (A3) receptacle is not contaminated or damaged, continue with next step.
- Check if the SHORT CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between the fuel control unit (A3) (WM 49-12) as follows:
From To Expected Result Result A3P1-A A3P1-B 18-20 ohms - If resistance check fails, go to step 13.
- If the resistance checks are good, continue with next step.
- Check if the SHORT CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Make sure there is no short between A3 receptacle A3P1-A and A3P1-B.
- If there is a short, go to step 13.
- If there is no short, continue with next step.
- Check if the SHORT CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Make sure there is no short between A3P1-A and A3P1-B on the engine branched wiring-harness (A3P1) connector (WM 49-12).
- If checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If checks are good, continue with next step.
- Make sure there is no short between each pin 17 and 18 and connector shell of P1 (WM 49-12).
- If checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If checks are good, continue with next step.
- Check that there is no short between J802-17 and J802-18 on the aircraft wiring harness connector (WM 49-61).
- If checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If checks are good, continue with next step.
- Make sure there is no short between each pin 17 and 18, and the connector shell of J802 (WM 49-61).
- If checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace Fuel control unit (A3).
- Do close out.
