Fault Description:
The signals from the fuel shutoff solenoid, of the fuel control unit, to the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) are higher than the expected range. This shows a possible open in the fuel shutoff solenoid or the engine branched wiring-harness.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Examine the engine branched wiring-harness for bare wiring, kinks, worn areas and other damage (WM 49-12).
- If harness is not acceptable, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If OPEN CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Examine the fuel control unit (A3) receptacle for contamination and damage.
- If fuel control unit (A3) receptacle is contaminated or damaged, go to step 7.
- If OPEN CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform continuity check between the fuel control unit (A3) as follows:
From To Expected Result Result A3P1-A A3P1-B 18 - 20 ohm - If resistance check fails, go to step 7.
- If OPEN CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring check between P1 (APU) and A3P1 (fuel control unit).
- If checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If OPEN CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring check between J802 (aircraft wiring harness) and A108BP1 (FADEC).
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Make sure OPEN CKT-FCU [SHUT OFF SOL]/WIRING does not show on the CAIMS PMAT.
- If checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace Fuel control unit.
- Do close out.
