Message Overview:

Fault Message:

SHORT- INLET PRESS SNSR/NEG SIG WRG

Fault Code:

4960183APU

Associated CAS:

None

Reporting LRU: Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC)
System Description: 49-60-00
Schematic Diagram: 49-61-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 49-12-01 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

The Inlet Pressure Sensor high side conditioning voltage in the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) is normal, but the signal read by the FADEC is out of range high. This shows a possible short to ground in the inlet pressure sensor low side signal input or the engine branched wiring-harness.

Possible Causes:

  • Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) (A108)
  • Inlet Pressure Sensor (MT1)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Examine the engine branched wiring-harness for bare wiring, kinks, worn areas and other damage (WM 49-12).

    1. If there is bare wiring, kinks, worn areas or other damage, go to step 10.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  2. Examine the inlet pressure sensor (MT1) receptacle for contamination and damage.

    1. If contaminated or damaged, go to step 11.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a continuity check within the inlet pressure sensor (MT1) receptacle as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    MT1P1-A MT1P1-B 1000 - 4000 ohms

    1. If continuity checks is not good, go to step 11.
    2. If continuity checks good, continue with next step.

  4. Perform a continuity check within the inlet pressure sensor (MT1) receptacle as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    MT1P1-C MT1P1-D 500 - 2000 ohms

    1. If continuity checks is not good, go to step 11.
    2. If continuity checks good, continue with next step.

  5. Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows and the ground shell. Measurements should be open circuit.

    From To Result
    MT1P1-A Ground
    MT1P1-B Ground
    MT1P1-C Ground
    MT1P1-D Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  6. Perform a wiring check between P802 (APU) and inlet pressure sensor (MT1P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  7. Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows and the ground shell. Measurements should be open circuit.

    From To Result
    P802-19 Ground
    P802-20 Ground
    P802-43 Ground
    P802-44 Ground

    1. If continuity checks are not good, go to step 10.
    2. If continuity checks are good, continue with next step.

  8. Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows and the ground shell. Measurements should be closed circuit.

    From To Result
    P802-19 A108AP1-D3
    P802-20 A108AP1-E3
    P802-43 A108AP1-A3
    P802-44 A108AP1-B3

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  9. Perform a wiring check between P802 (APU) and inlet pressure sensor (MT1P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  10. Replace Engine branched wiring-harness.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  11. Replace Inlet pressure sensor (MT1).
  12. Do close out.
