Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Examine the engine branched wiring-harness for bare wiring, kinks, worn areas and other damage (WM 49-12).
- If there is bare wiring, kinks, worn areas or other damage, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- If CH B Built-In Test (BIT) SHORT-IGNITION EXCITER/WRG still shows, continue with next step.
- Check if CH B Built-In Test (BIT) SHORT-IGNITION EXCITER/WRG still shows.
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Examine the ignition exciter (A2) receptacle for contamination and damage.
- If there is a damage, go to step 12.
- If there is no damage, continue with next step.
- Check if CH B Built-In Test (BIT) SHORT-IGNITION EXCITER/WRG still shows.
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Make sure there is no short between each pin A, B, C, D and F and the connector shell of A2 receptacle (WM 49-12).
- If there is short, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no short, continue with next step.
- Check if CH B Built-In Test (BIT) SHORT-IGNITION EXCITER/WRG still shows.
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between pin E and the connector shell of A2 receptacle (WM 49-12).
- If there is no continuity, go to step 12.
- If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- Check if CH B Built-In Test (BIT) SHORT-IGNITION EXCITER/WRG still shows.
- If NO, do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
