Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Examine the engine branched wiring-harness for bare wiring, kinks, worn areas and other damage (WM 49-12).

    1. If there is bare wiring, kinks, worn areas or other damage, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
    2. If there is no bare wiring, kinks, worn areas or other damage, continue with next step.

  2. Examine the fuel solenoid valve (V2) receptacle for contamination and damage.

    1. If there is contamination or damage, go to step 12.
    2. If there is no contamination or damage, continue with next step.

  3. If OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING still shows, perform a continuity check between on the fuel solenoid valve (V2) receptacle (WM 49-12) as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    V2-A V2-B 25-37 ohms

    1. If resistance measurement fails, go to step 12.
    2. If the resistance is within range, continue with next step.

  4. If OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING still shows, make sure there is no short between each V2-A and V2-B and the connector shell of V2 receptacle (WM 49-12).

    1. If there is short circuit, go to step 12.
    2. If there is no short circuit, continue with next step.

  5. If OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING still shows, perform a wiring check between APU (P1) and fuel solenoid valve (V2P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. If OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING still shows, make sure that V2P1-A and V2P1-B on the engine branched wiring-harness (V2P1) connector (WM 49-12) are not short.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  7. If OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING still shows, make sure there is no short between each P1-78 and P1-79 and the connector shell of P1 (WM 49-12).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  8. If OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING still shows, perform a wiring check between aircraft wiring harness (J802) and FADEC (A108BP1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  9. If OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING still shows, make sure there is no short between J802-78 and J802-79 of the aircraft wiring harness (J802) connector (WM 49-61).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  10. If OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING still shows, make sure there is no short between each J802-78 and J802-79, the connector shell of J802 (WM 49-61).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  11. Make sure OPEN CKT - FUEL SOLENOID VALVE/WIRING does not show.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  12. Replace fuel solenoid valve (V2).
  13. Do close out.
