Message Description:
The signals from the De-prime Valve to the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) are out of the accepted range. This shows a possible short or open between or in the signal lines.
Possible Causes:
- Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) (A108)
- De-Prime Valve (V1)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Examine the engine branched wiring-harness for bare wiring, kinks, worn areas and other damage (WM 49-12).
- If there is bare wiring, kinks, worn areas or other damage, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If there is no bare wiring, kinks, worn areas or other damage, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Examine the de-prime valve (V1) receptacle for contamination and damage.
- If there is a contamination or damage, go to step 20.
- If there is no contamination or damage, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between the pins of de-prime valve (V1) receptacle (WM 49-12). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result V1P1-A V1P1-B 15-25 ohms - If resistance is not as mentioned above, go to step 20.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows and the ground shell (WM 49-12). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result V1P1-A Ground Shell >1 megohm V1P1-B Ground Shell >1 megohm - If resistance is not as mentioned above, go to step 20.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between the pins of the connectors that follow (WM 49-12). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result P802-52 V1P1-A <1 ohm P802-53 V1P1-B <1 ohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between the pins of the de-prime valve connector (V1P1) (WM 49-12). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result V1P1-A V1P1-B >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows and the ground shell (WM 49-12). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result P802-52 Ground Shell >1 megohm P802-53 Ground Shell >1 megohm V1P1-A Ground Shell >1 megohm V1P1-B Ground Shell >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow still show on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between aircraft wiring harness (J802) and FADEC (A108BP1).
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between the pins of J802 connector (WM 49-61). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result J802-52 J802-53 >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- Check for any of the messages that follow still shows on the CAIMS PMAT.
- SHORT CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- OPEN CKT - DE-PRIME VALVE/WIRING
- If the messages are shown on the CAIMS PMAT, troubleshoot the messages first and continue with next step.
- If the messages are not shown on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows and the ground shell (WM 49-61). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result J802-52 Ground Shell >1 megohm J802-53 Ground Shell >1 megohm A108BP1-116 Ground Shell >1 megohm A108BP1-117 Ground Shell >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- Replace De-prime valve (V1).
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace FADEC.
- Do close out.
