WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

No power to the Surge Valve from the Full Authority Digital Engine Controller (FADEC), indicates a possible internal driver open circuit.

Possible Causes:

  • Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) (A108)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Get access to the CAIMS to view other APU related faults.

    1. If fault message is present, troubleshoot them first and continue with next step.
    2. If fault message is not present, continue with next step.

  2. Check for the fault message FADEC CONTROLLER is displayed on the CAIMS.

    1. If the fault message FADEC CONTROLLER is displayed on the CAIMS, go to step 4.
    2. If the fault message FADEC CONTROLLER is not displayed on the CAIMS, continue with next step.

  3. Re-rack APU FADEC and verify condition of connector A108BP1, as well as APU mounting tray connectors for damage.

    1. If damage found, repair as required and do close out.
    2. If damage not found, continue with next step.

  4. Replace APU FADEC.
  5. Do close out.
