Fault Description:
The signals from the open relay in the Linear Actuator to the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) are lower than the expected range. This shows a possible short in the Linear Actuator open-relay or the aircraft wiring harness.
Possible Causes:
- Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) (A108)
- Door Actuator (A199)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Examine the linear actuator (A199) receptacle for contamination and damage.
- If there is contamination or damage, go to step 9.
- If there is no contamination or damage on the receptacle, continue with next step.
- If SHORT - INL DR LIN ACTR/OPEN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a check each pin that follows and the grounded shell (WM 49-61). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result A199P1-A Ground >1 megohm A199P1-C Ground >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, go to step 9.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- If SHORT - INL DR LIN ACTR/OPEN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows (WM 49-61). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result P803-L P803-E >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- If SHORT - INL DR LIN ACTR/OPEN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a check each pin that follows and the grounded shell (WM 49-61). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result P803-L Ground >1 megohm P803-E Ground >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- If SHORT - INL DR LIN ACTR/OPEN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows (WM 49-61). The resistance should be measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result P803-L P803-E >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- If SHORT - INL DR LIN ACTR/OPEN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a check each pin that follows and the grounded shell (WM 49-61). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result J803-L Ground >1 megohm J803-E Ground >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- If SHORT - INL DR LIN ACTR/OPEN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a continuity check between each pin that follows (WM 49-61). The resistance should measure as follows:
From To Expected Result Result P803-L A48P1-e >1 megohm - If the resistance is not as mentioned above, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is as mentioned above, continue with next step.
- If SHORT - INL DR LIN ACTR/OPEN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Check for 28 Volts minimum on the APU starter-contactor assembly (A48) receptacle A48P1-e.
- If voltage checks are good, do close out.
- If voltage check fails, continue with next step.
- Replace Linear Actuator (A199).
- Do close out.
