WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The signals from the open relay, in the linear actuator, to the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) are out of than the expected range. This shows a possible open in the Linear Actuator open-relay or the aircraft wiring harness.

Possible Causes:

  • Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) (A108)
  • Door Actuator (A199)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Examine the linear actuator (A199) receptacle for contamination and damage.

    1. If there is contamination or damage, go to step 6.
    2. If there is no contamination or damage on the receptacle, continue with next step.

  2. If OPN CKT-INL DR LIN ACTR/OPN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a wiring check between aircraft wiring harness (P803) and linear actuator (A199P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. If OPN CKT-INL DR LIN ACTR/OPN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a wiring check between aircraft wiring harness (J803) and FADEC (A108BP1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. If OPN CKT-INL DR LIN ACTR/OPN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Perform a wiring check between aircraft wiring harness (J803) and APU starter-contactor assembly (A48P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. If OPN CKT-INL DR LIN ACTR/OPN RLY WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT. Check for 28 Volts minimum on the APU starter-contactor assembly (A48) receptacle A48P1-e.

    1. If voltage checks are good, do close out.
    2. If voltage check fails, continue with next step.

  6. Replace Linear Actuator (A199).
  7. Do close out.
