Message Description:

The Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) cannot read data from the time totalizing meter. This shows a possible defective time totalizing meter or a possible short or open circuit in the engine branched wiring-harness or the aircraft wiring harness.

  • Full Authority Digital Engine Controller (FADEC) (A108)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Examine the engine branched wiring-harness for bare wiring, kinks, worn areas and other damage (WM 49-12).

    1. If there is bare wiring, kinks, worn areas or other damage, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
    2. If the message NO DATA - TIME TOTALIZING METER/WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.

  2. Examine the time totalizing meter (M1) receptacle for contamination and damage.

    1. If there is contamination or damage, go to step 8.
    2. If the message NO DATA - TIME TOTALIZING METER/WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.

  3. Connect the hour meter/start counter reader to the time totalizing meter (M1). Push down and hold the push-button on the hour meter/start counter reader.

    1. If there is no data on the EVENTS LED, go to step 8.
    2. If the message NO DATA - TIME TOTALIZING METER/WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.

  4. Perform wiring checks between P1 (APU) and M1P1 (time totalizing meter).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, replace the engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good and if the message NO DATA - TIME TOTALIZING METER/WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.

  5. Perform a insulation resistance check between pins of APU connector (P1) and time totalizing meter (M1P1) with shell as follows (WM 49-12):

    From To Expected Result Result
    P1-72 Ground >1 megaohm
    M1P1-C Ground >1 megaohm

    1. If wiring checks are not good, replace engine branched wiring-harness and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good and if the message NO DATA - TIME TOTALIZING METER/WRG still shows on the CAIMS PMAT, continue with next step.

  6. Perform a wiring check between aircraft wiring harness connector (J802) and FADEC connector (A108AP1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  7. Replace FADEC (A108).

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Replace Time Totalizing Meter (M1).
  9. Do close out.
