These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

There is a possible mechanical failure with the Sensor.

Possible Causes:

  • Baggage Door Locked (MT46)
  • Landing-Gear Electronic Control-Unit (LG ECU) (A52)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Remove the lining in the baggage compartment door to get access to the sensor and examine the sensor and target for damage.

    1. If there is worn area or damage, repair or replace defective sensor as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no worn area or damage, continue with next step.

  2. Make sure there is no structural damage in the area of the sensor and the sensor aligns with the related target. Make sure that the clearance between the sensor and the target is 0.035 ±0.005 in.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. On the CAIMS PMAT, Perform the steps that follow to run Sensor Test:

    • Go to system diagnostics page
    • Make a selection of the LDG GEAR ELECTRONIC CTRL UNIT (CH B)
    • Under the category Baggage Door & Emergency Exit Sensor Agree Status

    1. Perform a check of the condition of the message Baggage Door Shoot Bolt Sensor Agree.

      1. If the problem is cleared, do close out.
      2. If the problem is still there, continue with next step.

    2. Check for damage and the alignment.

      1. If there is damage and the alignment is not within specification, go to step 6.
      2. If there is no damage and the alignment is within specification, continue with next step.

  4. Remove the original baggage-door locked proximity-sensor and Install a new baggage-door locked proximity-sensor (MT46). Perform the IBIT again.

    1. If the condition is agree, do close out.
    2. If the condition is disagree, continue with this procedure.

  5. Perform the operational test of the baggage-door locked proximity-sensor.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Replace LG ECU.
  7. Do close out.
