Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Perform wiring checks between the Left Engine Dedicated Generator and Left EEC.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Perform the resistance checks of the dedicated generator stator as follow:
From To Maximum Resistance allowed Result J1052-1 J1052-2 0.64 Ohms J1052-1 J1052-3 0.64 Ohms J1052-2 J1052-3 0.64 Ohms J1052-4 J1052-5 1.26 Ohms - If the resistance is not as specified above, go to step 9.
- If the resistance is as specified above, continue with next step.
- Perform an insulation check for the dedicated generator stator insulation resistance between connector J1052 and casing as follows:
From To Maximum Resistance allowed Result J1052-4 case >40 MΩ - If the insulation resistance is less than 40 MΩ, go to step 9.
- If the insulation resistance is as specified above, continue with next step.
- Visually inspect the dedicated generator for pickup, fretting, axial scratches, circumferential scratches, grooves and cracks.
- If there is damage, go to step 9.
- If there is no damage, continue with next step.
- Visually inspect the Stator Housing for nicks, scratches, or other damage at surface that will be against engine gearbox, cracks at mounting holes, all O-ring and other sealing areas for damage that would prevent a correct seal and chromate coating at mounting flange for signs of wear.
- If there is damage, go to step 9.
- If there is no damage, continue with next step.
- Visually inspect the Stator Assembly for stator laminations for broken or missing teeth or pieces, also no laminations are allowed to come out into the hole where the rotor will go (no laminations are allowed to protrude above the tooth into center near rotor), lifted laminations (refer to REPAIR). Make sure that the rotor has not rubbed against the stator during operation.
- If there is damage, go to step 9.
- If there is no damage, continue with next step.
- Visually inspect the windings in stator housing for corrosion or contamination, damaged stator windings, loose/defective wire connections, nicks or cuts, damaged or worn wire insulation, damaged or worn sleeving and signs of arcing or electrical failure.
- If there is damage, go to step 9.
- If there is no damage, continue with next step.
- Visually inspect connectors for stripped or worn threads, damaged keyways, pins that are loose, bent, burnt, corroded, or damaged, contamination between pins or damaged center insulator and signs of arcing or electrical failure.
- If there is no damage, do close out.
- If there is damage, continue with next step.
- Replace Left Engine Dedicated Generator.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace EEC 1.
- Do close out.
