Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

This fault message is set when Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) has an internal defect with the processor/watchdog of EEC channel B. Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) circuits/signal are continuously monitored by the EEC system during power up and while it is in operation (Built-In Test Equipment (BITE)) checks.

Possible Causes:

  • Right Electronic Engine Controller (EEC)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform the operational test of the FADEC.
    NOTE: Repeat the fault/repair confirmation after every unit replacement/repair. If no fault message is active, then you corrected the fault. Exit troubleshooting.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. On the CAIMS, get access to the fault messages.

    1. If the fault message is not present, do close out.
    2. If the R EEC CH B FAULT[1] fault messages is active or in the fault history, continue with next step.

  3. Open the cowl doors.
  4. Replace Right EEC.
  5. Close the cowl doors.
  6. Do close out.
