Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

A Low Pressure (LP) Fuel Filter Differential Pressure Switch fault has been detected during engine pre-start check.

Possible Causes:

  • Low pressure (LP) Fuel Filter Differential Pressure Switch (P1079)
  • Right Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
  • Associated Wiring

  1. The EEC continuously monitors the differential pressure switch circuit.The EEC will generate a switch failure signal if the LP fuel filter differential press switch contact is open before the engine start. This gives an indication that the switch is defective.
  2. The switch will open when the fuel filter differential pressure is 5±2 psid.
  3. The fuel filter bypass valve will open at 25±1 psid and will trigger the mechanical pop-up indicator on the fuel filter.

Fuel Synoptic page: Indication of a Fuel Filter blockage due to a LP filter differential pressure switch failure or impending filter blockage is detected.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform a continuity check of LP Fuel filter differential pressure switch.

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  2. Perform wiring checks between connector Pressure Switch and EEC.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Swap LP Fuel Filter Differential Pressure Switchs.

    1. If system checks are good, replace defective LP Fuel Filter Differential Pressure Switch and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Replace EEC 2.
  5. Do close out.
