Fault Description:
The Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) senses that the signal from the Linear Variable Differential Transformer is out of range. The Fuel Metering Unit (FMU) circuits are continuously monitored by the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC).

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Perform a visual inspection of the interface wiring for damage between the EEC connector (P1044) and the FMU connector (P1049).
- If there is damage, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no damage, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between the EEC and the FMU.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Perform a resistance check of the FMU as follows:
From To Resistance Value Result P1049-3 P1049-4 73 - 107 ohms at 50 °F (10 °C) ±1.75 ohms per 9 °F (5 °C) P1049-8 P1049-7 130 - 190 ohms at 50 °F (10 °C) ±3 ohms per 9 °F (5 °C) P1049-5 P1049-6 130 - 190 ohms at 50 °F (10 °C) ±3 ohms per 9 °F (5 °C) P1049-3 Ground >40 megohm P1049-8 Ground >40 megohm P1049-5 Ground >40 megohm - If the resistance is not within range, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is within range, continue with next step.
- Replace FMU.
- Do close out.
