Fault Description:
The Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) senses that the signal from the Linear Variable Differential Transformer for channel A is out of range. The Fuel Metering Unit (FMU) circuits are continuously monitored by the Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC).
Possible Causes:
- Fuel Metering Unit (FMU)
- Left Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
- Associated Wiring
Troubleshooting Tips:

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
CAUTION: Do not do electrical checks into the Engine Electronic Controller (EEC). If you do not obey this instruction, damage to the EEC can occur.
- Perform a visual inspection of the interface wiring for damage between the EEC connector (P1047) and the FMU connector (P1050).
- If there is damage, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no damage, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between the EEC 1 and the FMU.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Perform a resistance check of the FMU as follows:
From To Resistance Value Result P1050-3 P1050-4 73 - 107 ohms at 50 °F (10 °C) ±1.75 ohms per 9 °F (5 °C) P1050-8 P1050-7 130 - 190 ohms at 50 °F (10 °C) ±3 ohms per 9 °F (5 °C) P1050-5 P1050-6 130 - 190 ohms at 50 °F (10 °C) ±3 ohms per 9 °F (5 °C) P1050-3 Ground >40 megohm P1050-8 Ground >40 megohm P1050-5 Ground >40 megohm - If the resistance is not within range, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the resistance is within range, continue with next step.
- Swap Left EEC with Right EEC. Is the fault still present?
- If NO, replace Left EEC and do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Replace FMU.
- Do close out.
