WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Left Engine Oil Temperature Transducer signal to Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) CH A failed. Inhibited during Take-Off and Landing.

Possible Causes:

  • Left Oil Temperature Transducer
  • Left Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
  • Associated Wiring

  • Individual engine oil temperature sensor value can be read from the CAIMS Aircraft Diagnostic, Data Bus reader. Select the ADD LABEL button and select Engine Elect Controlller (EEC XX). Then Select Label 316 to read the value of the individual oil temperature.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Open the cowls.
  2. Perform wiring checks between the EEC 1 (P1043) and the Oil temperature transducer (P1067).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and go to step 5.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Swap oil temperature transducer CH A with CH B. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, replace defective oil temperature transducer and go to step 5.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the EEC 1.
  5. Close cowls.
  6. Do close out.
