WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Left Engine Oil Temperature Transducer signal to Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) Channel A failed (LOSS OF OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATION - DASHES IF CH A AND CH B FAILS).

Possible Causes:

  • Left Oil Temperature Transducer Channel A
  • Left Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
  • Associated Wiring

  1. Individual engine oil temperature sensor value can be read from the CAIMS Aircraft Diagnostic, Data Bus reader. Select the ADD LABEL button and select Engine Electronic Controller (EEC XX). Then Select Label 316 to read the value of the individual oil temperature.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap Left oil temperature transducer CH A with Right oil temperature transducer CH A.

    1. If system checks are good, replace Left oil temperature transducer CH A and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Perform wiring checks between the Left EEC and the Oil temperature transducer.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Replace the Left EEC.
  4. Do close out.
