WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Oil pressure signal cross-check failed between Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) channel A and B. Oil pressure digital indication change to dashes on Engine Indication and Crew Alerting System (EICAS).

(LOSS OF OIL PRESS INDICATION - DASHES).

Possible Causes:

  • Oil Pressure Transducer
  • Left Engine Electronic Controller (EEC)
  • Associated Wiring

  1. Individual engine oil pressure transducer value can be read from the CAIMS Aircraft Diagnostic, Data Bus reader. Select the ADD LABEL button and select Engine Electronic Controller (EEC XX). Then Select Label 317 and 074 to read the value of the individual oil pressure transducer.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap oil pressure transducer A between engines.

    1. If system checks are good, replace oil pressure transducer A of left engine and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Swap oil pressure transducer B between engines.

    1. If system checks are good, replace oil pressure transducer B of left engine and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between the Left EEC and the Oil pressure transducer A.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Perform wiring checks between the Left EEC and the Oil pressure transducer B.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. Replace the Left EEC.
  6. Do close out.
