Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Access the ARTU. On the face of the unit, is the green LED on?

    1. If YES, go to step 6.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  2. On the EMS CDU open the AIRPHONE SYSTEM circuit breaker and remove the ARTU.
  3. On the EMS CDU close the AIRPHONE SYSTEM circuit breaker. Perform a 28 VDC voltage check and ground check as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    A246AP2-A Ground 28 VDC
    A246AP2-B Ground 28 VDC
    A246AP2-C Ground Continuity

    1. If voltage and ground are good, continue with next step.
    2. If voltage and ground are not good, investigate wiring and/or power source and repair as required.

  4. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A246AP1-5 A246P2-D
    A246AP1-6 A246P2-E
    A246AP1-1 A246P2-C
    A246AP1-3 A246P2-A
    A246AP1-4 A246P2-B
    A246AP1-g A246P2-F

    1. If there is continuity, continue with next step.
    2. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required.

  5. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A246AP1-5 Ground
    A246AP1-6 Ground
    A246AP1-1 Ground
    A246AP1-3 Ground
    A246AP1-4 Ground
    A246AP1-9 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  6. On the face of the unit, is the red LED on?

    1. If YES, replace the ARTU.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  7. On the face of the unit, are the red and green LED on?

    1. If YES, replace the ARTU.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  8. On the face of the unit, does the green LED come on for less than one second and then go off?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, go to step 14.

  9. On the EMS CDU open the AIRPHONE SYSTEM circuit breaker. Disconnect ARTU connector A246P1.
  10. On the EMS CDU close the AIRPHONE SYSTEM circuit breaker. Does the green LED come on and stay on steady?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, go to step 14.

  11. On the EMS CDU, open the following circuit breakers: AIRPHONE SYSTEM and AIRPHONE REPEATER. Disconnect CDBR 1 connector A243P1. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A246P1-M Ground
    A246P1-N Ground
    A246P1-d Ground
    A246P1-P Ground

    A246P1-X Ground
    A246P1-Y Ground
    A246P1-E Ground
    A246P1-F Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  12. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A246P1-M A243P1-1
    A246P1-N A243P1-2
    A246P1-d A243P1-3
