Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The Flight Compartment Printer is unserviceable.

  • Flight Compartment Printer (A241)
  • Secondary Power Distribution Assembly (SPDA) 1 (A13)
  • Airborne Data Link Unit (ADLU) (A239)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Disconnect cockpit printer connector (A241P1) and perform a 28 VDC and ground check as follows:

    From To Expected result Result
    A241P1-A Ground 28 VDC
    A241P1-C Ground Continuity
    A241P1-K Ground Continuity
    A241P1-d Ground Continuity

    1. If voltage or ground are not present, investigate wiring or power source from SPDA 1 and do close out.
    2. If voltage and ground are present, continue with next step.

  2. Disconnect ADLU connector (A239BP1). Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A241P1-KK Ground
    A241P1-LL Ground
    A241P1-KK A241P1-LL

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A241P1-KK A239BP1-C1
    A241P1-LL A239BP1-D1

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Replace cockpit printer.
  5. Do close out.
