Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform the operational test of the SATCOM system. Is the operational test of the SATCOM system satisfactory?

    1. If NO, troubleshoot and fix the SATCOM system as required and continue with next step.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  2. Operate the Airborne Data-Link System using SATCOM network to receive the terminal text weather information.
NOTE: Do the initialization of the Flight Management System.
  3. Is the NEW message advisory shown on FMS CDU and new message received?

    1. If YES, verify that CAIMS fault code 2320009TDY 'ADLU SATCOM FAULT' is not displayed on PMAT and do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  4. Perform a continuity check, short to ground and pin/socket retention check between the ADLU connector (A239AP1) and the SDU connector (A228BP1). Is the wiring continuity between short to ground and pin/socket retention check between ADLU and SDU satisfactory?

    1. If NO, repair or replace the defective wiring as required as per WM 20-12 and do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.
NOTE: ADLU does not receive ARINC broadcast data, when SATCOM/SDU is operational.

  5. Replace the Airborne Data-Link Unit (ADLU).
  6. Do close out.
